Marshall Canyon Hike Description
Plants on Marshall Canyon Trail - February 6, 2011

These are plants I photographed on Marshall Canyon Trail on February 6, 2011. It gives a snapshot of plant life in the middle of winter here. There is very little in bloom. The blossoms pictured here represent all of the species of plants I saw in bloom (except for sunflower [Helianthus annuus] and cliff aster [Malacothrix saxatilis], which I did not get shots of). Except for the wild cucumber and hoary-leaved ceanothus, plants in bloom here only occurred once or very few times for the entire five-mile hike.

Since my primary mission for the hike was mapping and checking my trail description, I was not focused on plant photograph, thus some of the images are not the best in quality.

An asterisk (*) indicates that I am not certain with the identification.
