Serenity at Saddle

View south of Icehouse Saddle - On a fair-weather weekend, the saddle sees lots of foot traffic. On this Friday morning we experienced a few minutes of solitude at the saddle before a party of three arrived — an older man, his adult son, and an infant on his back. Earlier on our way up, our wilderness experience was interrupted by the cries of the toddler a few minutes behind us.
Evidently this parent didn't bother to heed the first paragraph of the Wilderness sign: "Solitude - Respect the solitude of others. Use low voices."
